Madesimo, Italy

Madesimo is a small resort in the Italian region of Lombardy, perched on the border with Switzerland.

A favourite with Italian visitors, Madesimo is a quiet and typically charming resort which enjoys a reputation for reasonably-priced accommodation and great après ski.

The village has the added advantage of high altitude – enjoying snow falls from early November through to late spring.

The majority of the skiing is best suited to novice, intermediate and recreational skiers, though there are black runs and off-piste opportunities for the more adventurous.

During the week, skiers and boarders can take advantage of uncrowded slopes and queue-free lifts. At weekends the atmosphere gets livelier as Italians make the most of the excellent ski terrain.

Good snow, reasonable prices, a wide range of restaurants, pizzerias and bars make Madesimo an ideal short-break destination for anyone seeking a relaxing winter break.
