Join us next summer for a fabulous week of tennis in the Austrian Alps hosted
by two British pros, Karen Cross and Lorna Woodroffe. We will spend 7 nights
in a beautiful mountain village, with 5 days of personal tennis coaching
(2 hours per day)
Our Pro-Hosted Tennis Week runs for 1 week, dates to be confirmed for 2009, and is open to players of all levels, from beginners up. This is no boot camp – we will stay at a superb 4-star hotel with a spa and rooftop pool, and there will be plenty of “après tennis” plus a fun “Pimms & Strudel” tournament with prizes.
Non-tennis playing friends, partners and children are also welcome.
The Alps in summer
This unique tennis holiday will be held in the delightful Alpine village
of Brand in the Vorarlberg region of Austria, just 2 hours’ drive from Zurich
Airport. Brand is an unspoilt mountain resort and home to the European Tennis
Academy. It has outstanding tennis facilities including 3 indoor courts,
2 AstroTurf courts and 6 clay courts.
The village also boasts a scenic 18-hole golf course, a swimming lake, horse riding and 400km of hiking trails. Perfect if you want to be active, but also a great place to relax and soak up the sun.
Our tennis pro hosts
Our hosts for the week are Karen Cross and Lorna Woodroffe – both of whom
have played tennis at the highest level, but also share an easy-going, fun
attitude to coaching the game.
Karen Cross is a former British No 2 and World No 134. In 1997 Karen became the first British woman in 21 years to reach the 3rd round at Wimbledon.
Lorna Woodroffe is a former British No 2 and World No 133, who represented Great Britain at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
Where we stay
The 4-star Hotel Valavier is a lovely place to stay, right in the centre
of picturesque Brand and just a few minutes’ walk from the tennis courts.
With its own spa, sun terrace and indoor rooftop pool, it’s a perfect place to unwind. It is expertly run by the Andrea and Edi Meyer, who will make you feel at home with their efficient service and delicious food.
The Hotel Valavier also offers free child care every day from 4pm to 8pm.

Unlimited court time
Return airport transfers, with free snacks and cold drinks on board. You
will travel out with Lorna and Karen and be met at Zurich Airport by your
private transfer.
The services of our “Holiday PA” in the resort to ensure you have everything

A Pimms & Strudel “Olympics” tennis tournament, with prizes for the
“champions”
The tennis coaching
Lorna and Karen have designed a special coaching programme for this unique
holiday, in conjunction with coaches from the European Tennis Academy. Each
morning will have a different focus to challenge you and keep you on your
toes! Afternoons will be kept free for practice, free play or other activities.
Monday – Technical / Analysis Day
Group 1 from 8.30 to 11 and Group 2 from 11 to 1.30
Tuesday - Drill like the Pros (turnaround tennis)
Group 1 from 11 to 1 and Group 2 from 9 to 11
Wednesday - Tennis Medley (music tennis, baskets, bungee tennis, heart-rate
tennis)
Group 1 from 9 to 11 and Group 2 from 11 to 1
Thursday – Tactics and Match Play (singles and doubles)
Group 1 from 11 to 1 and Group 2 from 9 to 11
Friday - Doubles Tactics
Group 1 from 9 to 11 and Group 2 from 11 to 12.30
On Friday afternoon, join your pros and coaches for a Pimms & Strudel “Olympics” tennis tournament, with prizes.
